Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.

If I were to describe my beauty style, I would say it’s nice and easy. Nice to look at and easy to do. Beauty is in the eye of the holder, right? Well, I behold 5 tips to include in your wellness routine.
Moisturize Your Skin Inside & Out
I usually use a heavier lotion on my hands and feet to keep them moisturized in the winter. Lately, I’ve been using the Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream. It’s super creamy and keeps my hands and feet moisturized for hours.
Did you know you can moisturize your skin from the inside? Yep, you can. It’s easy. You just need to get a cup, pour some water inside, and drink up. That’s it! Staying hydrated throughout the day will help keep your skin moisturized. And, guess what? The combination of a good moisturizer and drinking enough makes your makeup application easier. You won’t need as much coverage if your skin is properly moisturized.
Scrub It Up
When moisturizing your skin, make sure you don’t skip one important body part – your lips. Getting cracked lips is no fun. Before you jump to moisturizing your lips, make sure you exfoliate them first. I like the Lip Bar’s Lip Care Kit to exfoliate, smooth, and nourish my lips. This kit helps keep my lips soft and kissable (my husband likes that)!
Use Your Body
Prioritizing exercise is important for a well-rounded wellness routine. With the quarantine, lots of gyms shut down and the price of exercise equipment skyrocketed. Fortunately, you don’t need all of that. You can get a good calorie burn with just one thing – your body! Bodyweight workouts can range from cardio to strength exercises. This month I’ve been doing the Ignite program with fitness trainer, Sydney Cummings. Check out her YouTube channel here to view her playlist of bodyweight workouts. Grab some comfy clothes, clear a space, and get started!
Sneak Food In Your Food
Do you struggle with getting enough vegetables in your diet? What about your kids? Do they see vegetables and push their plate away? I have one word for you – smoothies! Smoothies are a great way to pack in nutrient-dense ingredients. Depending on your taste profile, you can add in as much or as little as you like. Lately, I’ve gotten into green smoothies. Check one of my favorite smoothie recipes.
- 2 cups of water
- 2 large handfuls of spinach
- .5 cup frozen pineapple
- .5 cup frozen strawberries
- .5 cup frozen peaches
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
1. Add the water and spinach to the blender and blend for 60 seconds or so until the mixture is liquified.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until your desired consistency. Feel free to add more water if it is too thick.
3. Enjoy drinking your veggies!
Reclaim Your Peace
Ok, so I don’t want to call you out but…………..how much screen time do you have in a day? Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate you reading my blog. I really do. But, how much time are you spending on Instagram, FaceBook, ClubHouse, TikTok, etc.? How do you feel about reclaiming 10-15 of your screen time for the sake of your peace? Mediation is an important part of your wellness routine. Taking some time each day to take some deep breaths, express gratitude, and clear your mind has positive effects on your mood and well-being. So put your phone down…..at least for 10-15 minutes.
Building out a wellness routine doesn’t have to be tedious. A few tweaks to your normal routine will have you well on your way to having a more balanced lifestyle!
